We've also been getting some stuff done inside. It's all painted and the light fixtures are all hung. We've also got our cooling system working so it's pretty comfortable inside.
This is what Dodger gets to do while Andy and I work
Here are some of the lights
He will just chill in his car seat most of the time. We are so lucky to have such a relaxed little guy.
1st Pour - The Footers:
Andy and Curtiss forming up the footers for the front porch and getting the dirt all compacted.
Steve and Taylor showed up to help with this pour too. The extra help is always nice.
My job was to go around after and smooth the top.
We had some extra cement so we poured a little pad to put our dog house on
2nd Pour - The Stem Walls:
Andy, Curtiss, and Steve Black
I'm happy this wasn't my job
The little wood box on top acts like a funnel and helps the cement go where it's supposed to.
3rd Pour - The Top
Notice how the cement looks dirty? It's because it has the dye in it.
We had to have 2 trucks come, 1 for the front and 1 for the back. We ran out on the back so the next truck had to bring a little extra and then we barely had enough. We cut it pretty close, but at least we didn't waste any.
Here Dennis is throwing the different colors of dye on the cement.
Here are the stamps
Then he walks on them like this and it makes a really neat pattern that looks like natural rock. I love it.
Here are a few more sewer pictures. haha
This is the drain leading to our leach pit.
And here is the leach pit. It's big, Hmmm...
Remember the trees that we planted at the first of the summer? Here is one of them. Most of them are doing pretty good, hopefully next year we'll see a lot more growth.
