Christmas Eve & The Black Family Christmas Party

We did things a little different than we usually do them with the Black Family this year, we had our Christmas party the day after Christmas. Usually we have it on Christmas Eve night, but this year everyone did their own thing and started their own traditions. We still had a way fun party though thanks to Mom, Jody & James.

What's a party without dancing? During the program all of the little kids danced while everyone sang their songs or played the piano. Bronx danced AND tried to play the piano. It was a full time job just trying to keep him out of everyone's performances.

It's not a Black family party unless there's a pinata!

Since Bronx is the youngest grandchild he gets to be the first one to take a whack at it, and he loved every minute of it.

Dodger was third, he's getting better at it too.

After all of the little kids had a turn at the pinata the bigger kids got a turn, only they had to be blind folded. James had to hold Dodger back so he wouldn't get in the way of a swinging bat.

Then Jody planned a fun game for us to play. Everyone had a present (brought by Jody) and then she read a story and everytime she said left we had to pass it left and everytime she said right we had to pass it right. It was fun, even the little kids were able to play.

We decided to make it a tradition to go and do something fun with our family on Christmas Eve. This year we decided to go up on the mountain and play in the snow. So Dodger and Bronx got one of their presents a little early. Funny Story: We bought them a sled when we went up north to our nephew Aaron's mission farewell the second weekend of December, and we had it in the back of the car. When we stopped in Price for dinner Dodger looked in the back and yelled "WE GOT A BOAT!!" He was so excited. So now we call it a boat.

Dodger, Bronx, Me. Bronx was big enough to even ride in his own sled for a while. He loved it. Andy said he had a super cheesy grin the whole time.

On our way back to the truck Bronx and Andy were riding the sled and Bronx fell asleep.

After we got back from sledding we invited Grandpa Johnson and Grandma Billie over for some yummy soup. Then later we opened our name gifts from the Black and Johnson side. Aunt Jody made Dodger this little hunting vest, and gave him new hunting hat. They gave Bronx a little hammer toy that he still sits and plays with for like 30 minute spans. Jody made me cute apron, and gave Andy a Home Depot gift card. David and Michelle gave us some really nice knives, which we needed badly.

Then later Grandma and Grandpa Black came over so the boys could open their presents from them. They got new jammies!! Plus they each got a new ball.

New matching jammies! Dodger's even came with a super cute robe, which he loves!
Bronx's poor cheeks were wind/cold burned from our sledding adventure earlier.

Then we put cookies and milk out for Santa and went to bed!
