My sweet Grandma Quayle passed away on June 9, 2012 at the age of 87. She had been struggling with Alzheimer's disease for a few years now, and it finally got the best of her. Her mind was mostly gone, and it was getting hard on my Grandma to take care of her on his own. The last 2 weeks of her life she was in an assisted living facility where they took really good care of her. This was really hard on my Grandpa, he thinks he should have kept her at home, but he's old himself (90 +) and it was too much for him to handle alone.
She was always such a fun grandma. She made us our very own Christmas ornaments almost every year while we were young. I loved getting these. She made us quilts, Easter presents, always remembered to send us a card on our birthdays and ALWAYS made us feel special. I'm so lucky to have had a Grandma as awesome as she is. She was lucky too. My Grandpa took care of her every single day of their life together, always treating her like a princess and making sure she was comfortable and happy. They are so in love.
My Grandma had to go through so much throughout her life. Her and my Grandpa had the bury 3 of their children, Uncle Chris, Uncle Steve and my Mom, leaving only my Uncle Rich on this earth. I know they are having a grand reunion in Heaven.
One of my favorite memories of her is from one year at Christmas time. They used to come to our house for Christmas a lot, and I always loved it. As soon as they would drive up they would open their trunk and it would be packed full of presents for us. It always made the presents under the tree almost double in size. But one Christmas we got roller blades, and my Grandma decided to put them on and try them out. She was roller blading all over our driveway. She loved to dress like my mom, and they would often buy matching outfits. Good thing they didn't live close to each other. :) We would always head over to St. George to go school shopping, or just for a vacation. It soon became one of my favorite places. It won't be the same without Grandma! I love you Grandma! I can't wait to see you again!
On our way over to the funeral we stopped at Glenn Canyon Dam to eat lunch and look over the bridge, while we were eating on the lawn, the sprinklers came on and soaked us.
My friends Jackie and Amber did this while we were in college, about 8 years ago. And it's still there on my Grandpa's fridge
That night after the viewing we all went back to our hotel and went swimming and ate pizza.
don't mind my makeup :)
Dodger and Carter spent most of their time in the hot tub.
Dodger was soooo tired. He crashed while eating a piece of pizza. He woke up about an hour later and started choking because he still had a bite in his mouth.
All of the Pallbearers: Andy, David, Brandon Quayle, Jeff, Uncle Rich, Jason Quayle

This is all that's left from their little family. Uncle Rich and Grandpa
Dodger was mostly interested in the water cups
I thought this was so cute. At the dinner my Grandpa had just gotten his food and all the little grand kids ran up to him and said "sit with us grandpa"
