We always have a candlelit Christmas Eve dinner with Andy's family, but before dinner this year we all headed up to the nursing home to sing Christmas carols. It was a great experience and really helped me feel the real meaning of Christmas. I even started to cry as I watched a husband help feed his wife dinner and smiling the sweetest smile.
After we headed back for a yummy ham dinner followed by our very own live nativity.
Dodger was a shepherd and Bronx was baby Jesus. They both played their parts very well. We decided to have Bronx laying in his "manger" since our Mary, played by Macy, was a little young to hold him the whole time.
Mary (Macy), baby Jesus (Bronx), Joseph (Trace), Wiseman (Garrett), Wiseman (Kade), Shepherd (Stetson), Shepherd (Dodger), Shepherd (Derek), Wiseman (Gavin)
Grandma read the story while the kids acted it out.
Isn't that the cutest shepherd you've ever seen?
Andy got to play with our sweet niece Lucy.
After the nativity we had a program where everyone shows off their talents. We didn't have anything except for Dodger dancing to everyone else's music.
Stetson, Dodger, Gavin, Garrett,
Christmas morning was so fun! I thought Dodger would be into opening his presents more but he wasn't too interested. It could possibly be because I had been yelling at him for weeks not to touch the presents, or possibly because the first thing he opened was a shirt.
Bronx was just happy to be involved.
he sticks his tongue out just like his daddy.
Santa brought Dodger a new car this year and as you can tell by the look on his face, he loves it. He sits in it all day and takes his toys and snacks in there with him.
Bronx got a new swing to hang out in the garage, Andy got a mussel loader kit so he can build his own gun, and I got clothes.
After we opened presents we went around to all of the cousins houses to see what they got, and then after a short nap, we headed over to my dad's for another yummy ham dinner.
