Bronx's Party!

Like I said before, we had a football themed party for Bronx's first birthday. I couldn't decide on a theme for a while because, well he's one and doesn't really have favorite things yet. So I thought most little boys love football so why not go with it! And since there happened to be a BYU game the week of his birthday we decided to wait until the weekend and have his party the same day, and have the game playing in the background so the guys had something to do. It worked out perfectly!

We had it at Bronx's Grandma & Grandpa Black's house since we don't have DVR and couldn't record the game. I woke up the morning of the party not feeling to good, and I had a hard time getting things ready. Andy ended up working on his parents cabin until about 4 so he wasn't much help until he got home. But once he got home he made up for it, and got most of the stuff ready on his own. We wanted to feed everyone dinner, so I decided to have a nacho bar to go along with our football theme. We had shredded chicken, ground beef, re-fried beans, nacho cheese sauce, and all of the other trimmings to go along with nachos and Andy's mom made a fruit salad to tie it all together.

My Birthday Boy!

I put Andy in charge of the video camera while we opened presents. Bronx got so many fun toys from his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins & friends. Here's the list:
  • Grandma & Grandpa Black - Guitar that plays music
  • Grandpa Johnson & Grandma Billie - Train with lights and sounds that moves
  • Steve & Shauna family - Tow & Pull Tractor & Wagon
  • David & Michelle family - Matching bucket block set
  • Steve & Suzie family - Handmade quilt with Bronx's name on it
  • Kenny & Amber family - Ball Maze game & Teddy Grahams
  • Mom & Dad - Sit & Spin toy
  • Amber & Daniel Mower family - new outfit

Yes Dodger's finger is extremely far up his nose.

After presents it was time for cake, of course! We stripped him down to his diaper, sang him happy birthday and let him have at it!

We had to hold his hands back so he wouldn't grab the flame.

It took a little persuading, but he eventually dug right in! With lots of help from his big brother of course!

He was even nice enough to share with Daddy.

After the damage had been done, and everyone was off enjoying their own cupcakes he was ready to get down, and mom was ready to put him in the bath!

We are so thankful to everyone for coming and for helping make Bronx's special day even more special, and of course for the awesome gifts.
